BIM Manager Job Summary:
The BIM Manager is responsible for the digital delivery of multidisciplinary projects from Concept to IFC, with a strong focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM). This role ensures that the digital tools and processes used throughout the project lifecycle drive collaboration, efficiency, and quality. The BIM Manager will lead a cross-functional team, fostering a collaborative working environment and ensuring that all stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and clients, are aligned with the project’s digital goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- BIM Coordination and Management: • Lead the implementation of BIM processes across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring that models are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards. • Oversee the creation, management, and exchange of 3D models and data sets, ensuring they meet the project’s digital requirements and standards. • Facilitate clash detection and resolution through coordination with the design and construction teams.
- Collaboration and Communication: • Act as a key point of contact for BIM-related matters, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors, and clients). • Promote a collaborative working environment through digital tools, driving teamwork between different disciplines and departments. • Organize and lead project coordination meetings to address any issues related to the digital aspects of the project.
- Team Leadership and Development: • Assist the Digital Delivery Lead by mentoring the JTP BIM & Architectural team, providing guidance and technical support. • Assist the Digital Delivery Lead in encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the team, identifying areas where digital tools can enhance project delivery. • Assist the Digital Delivery Lead with the overall Digital strategy for JTP.
- Data Management and Reporting: • Ensure that digital information is managed in accordance with project requirements and organizational standards. • Assist in developing and maintaining project documentation related to BIM execution plans, workflows, and protocols. • Provide regular reports to project stakeholders on the progress and status of digital coordination efforts.
- Standards and Compliance: • Ensure compliance with BIM standards (ISO 19650 or relevant regional standards) and other digital construction practices. • Implement and enforce quality control procedures for BIM deliverables and digital data. • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to BIM and digital construction.
- Technical Skills: • Proficient in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools. • Strong understanding of clash detection software and coordination tools like Solibri or BIM 360. • Knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and implementation processes. • Experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) and digital document management systems.
