Job Summary:
The BIM Coordinator is responsible for the digital delivery of multidisciplinary projects from Concept to IFC, with a strong focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM). This role ensures that digital tools and processes enhance collaboration, efficiency, and quality throughout the project lifecycle. The BIM Coordinator will lead cross-functional coordination efforts, ensuring that all stakeholders—including designers, contractors, and clients—are aligned with the project’s digital goals.
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Coordination and Management:
- Lead the implementation of BIM processes across all project phases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee the creation, management, and exchange of 3D models and data, ensuring they meet digital project requirements.
- Facilitate clash detection and resolution through coordination with design and construction teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM-related matters, ensuring clear communication among architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Promote a collaborative working environment through digital tools, fostering teamwork across disciplines.
- Organize and lead project coordination meetings to address digital project issues.
- Support the Digital Delivery Lead by mentoring the BIM & Architectural team, providing guidance and technical expertise.
- Assist in developing the digital strategy, driving innovation and continuous improvement in digital project delivery.
- Ensure digital information is managed effectively, following project and organizational standards.
- Develop and maintain BIM execution plans, workflows, and protocols for consistent digital delivery.
- Provide regular reports on BIM coordination efforts to project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with BIM standards (ISO 19650 or regional equivalents) and enforce quality control measures for digital deliverables.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to BIM and digital construction.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, AutoCAD, and other relevant BIM tools.
- Experience with clash detection software and coordination tools such as Solibri or BIM 360/ACC.
- Strong knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and digital implementation processes.
- Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) and digital document management systems.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and managing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead coordination meetings and resolve issues effectively in a team environment.
